To the moon and back

A couple weeks ago Jennie & Max learned about the moon & the planets. On Monday or Tuesday their teacher told them that on Friday the were going on a fieldtrip into outer space! All week long Jennie was SO excited that she was going to get to go to Mars. But then her teacher told her it takes a couple days to get to Mars & back, her sister was having a party that weekend so Jennie wasn't sure she wanted to go anymore. I told her that Ms. John might have a special ship to get them there & back in the time they had class. Jen thought about that for a couple days and decided she still wanted to go to school on Friday go on the fieldtrip...I think she was a little bummed when I picked her up from school after she found out it wasn't a real trip but a fake one in these 'space suits' and the ship was a big plastic bag that fit around the whole class. I tried to tell her all week that the trip might just be a pretend one but she was so sure that it was going to be real!
