Here she is...the birthday girl! I think she had a pretty great day. She got to pick a special dinner location so we went to Pizza Hut. Then she got to go spend $10 at Shopko on anything she wanted. After that it was home for cake and presents! The power was out when we got home so we had to do everything by candlelight...which the kids loved!

The birthday loot! Mostly Hannah Montana!

And I made the
Rainbow cake! It wasn't hard at all or even overly time consuming!

So later I will post more on 'dipping' cupcakes. I tried the opposite on the top of the cake. I colored the frosting blue & then melted in a little in the microwave & poured it on top. It was an experiment & Kayla actually thought is looked SO cool!

The birthday girl with all her candles lit!

Blowing out the candles!

And one post of the inside of the cake! I thought it looked awesome! I will definately be making this cake again!

Short time blog lurker here. Happened by when I recognized your last name on a friend's blog links. I went to church once upon a time with your hubby.
Just wanted to ask you for directions on your cake. I've got a couple of little girls who would love love love that cake.
super cute cake! How did you do it???
I can't believe that she is 8, but that makes sense, since Katherine will turn 8 in July. That cake looks awesome. I will have to try it someday!!
