Last day of school

I know, I am WAY behind! It's nearly the first day of school again & I am just now posting the last day of school. Oh well right?

Here's beautiful Jen in her Camp Cowabunga shirt she made herself. I wish I had a good picture of it because it was so cute. Her class bleached shapes onto colored shirts but her's ended up as a big blob so we pulled out the markers & made the blob into a butterfly. The shirt got a huge hole ripped in it earlier this summer or I would take a picture now. Camp Cowabunga is a fun two day event for the 1st & 2nd graders the last two days of school. I'm not exactly what they do but the kids came home singing fun camp songs and brought cute projects.
This year Jennie received an award for faithful attendance. She only missed two days of school...bummer flu!! She was hoping to get perfect because she got that last year & she wanted to see how long she could go without getting sick.
Kayla had a pajama day for the last day. They pretty much partied all day. They had a dance party in the morning before lunch and then after lunch they made ice cream in a bag and had sundaes...or attempted to. Jer went in to help out in Kayla's class and said the ice cream was pretty soft but the kids loved it!
Kayla received perfect attendance this year. At our school, Tom Scott Toyota gives all 3rd graders who receive perfect attendance a bike. Kayla set a goal at the beginning of the year that she was going to win a bike & she made it! I'm so proud of her! Some days I wasn't sure she was going to make it. I am a believer in "mental health" days and every time I thought she maybe needed one she said no. She also LOVED her teacher so that helped too!
