Media Fast...and other stuff

Yesterday at church, for 5th Sunday, we had a combined Priesthood, RS, YM/YW lesson given by our bishopric. We talked about the dangers of different types of media...and also some positives of them...and then were challenged to have a media fast from Monday to Monday. We were asked to talk about the details of how our families would complete it in our Family Home Evening this week. Also, we were allowed to still use media in necessary forms such as work, school and those things and also in ways that were uplifting and invited the spirits such as listening to hymns and what not. Oh boy! Am I going to have a challenge with this one! It all due to Facebook...I admit it...I'm addicted! We even specifically talked about that one at church! I am really going to try to complete this though! I was also going to give up on the blog for the week...seriously, would that be very hard? I mean it has been a few weeks since I last posted! But I have been feeling I needed to do a blog challenge for myself and came up with 30 days of Thanks. I had planned on posting for the month of November something I am thankful for everyday. I have been feeling very overwhelmed and defeated and just not very happy about much lately so I was hoping this would get me up out of the rut a little. I think I really need this challenge right now so I am going to continue on with that plan. So the posts will probably not contain any pics or anything for the week but they are more for me than anyone else....sorry...selfish me coming out again!

I deleted myself from Facebook because I didn't like what it was doing to me in my life. I think doing the 30 days of thanks is such a great idea! I miss you Carrie, we need to get together sometime!

I think 30 days of thanks is a great idea, I think I might steal it. I have to say there were many times I cried when I was going to school. Especially before mid terms or finals. You are amazing for doing it all.
